Love music and coming to London? Shirley Henderson (and the rest of this fine cast) belts out Dylan like you’ve never heard before in Girl From the North Country on at the Old Vic until 7 October. Conor McPherson is a risktaker: Paula, his tv thriller was so dark I struggled to watch it. But on stage his work sings.
His latest play, which he has written and directed takes place in a guesthouse in Bob Dylan’s home town of Duluth, Minnesota in the Depression era 1930s, before the singer was born.
‘It’s not a greatest-hits compilation. It’s a conversation between the songs and the story’.
